Alice: Madness Returns then came back to Steam in 2022, but the sequel to American McGee's Alice has now been removed from Steam yet again. Publisher Electronic Arts removed the game from Steam back in 2016 to incentivize purchases from its own digital distribution service Origin. Mixing elements of action, platforming and psychological horror, Alice: Madness Returns lets players fight to save Wonderland while also confronting Alice's traumatic past. Vivid hallucinations draw Alice back into Wonderland, which is being threatened by a hostile entity called the Infernal Train. As a direct sequel to American McGee's Alice, Alice: Madness Returns follows orphan Alice Liddell following her release from Rutledge Asylum.
